The beginning of a new journey didn’t start right away. Ainsworth. Back right corner. I noticed someone being goofy, showing off for his friends. Little did I know, he was showing off to get my attention lol. Attention he got. He reached out to a mutual friend that was next to me. I called myself curving him lol, iykyk. Fast forward to sometime in May, deep into COVID, he slid into my DMs. (He’d tell you the opposite) We eventually hung out at 707 and the rest was history. Joined by the hip, now and forever. I met Robyn on March 8, 2020. It was a Sunday Funday, and I was out kicking it with the boys. Across from us was a group of women having brunch, and that’s when I saw her—a beautiful brown-skinned woman with natural curls framing her face. She immediately caught my attention.

I DM’d my homegirl who was sitting at the table with her and said, “Sis, who is that beautiful chocolate woman sitting next to you?" We ended up following each other on Instagram, and I shot my shot… but she curved me. Luckily, I’m a natural-born shooter, because that first miss didn’t deter me.

A game of UNO ended up being the real decision-maker for our love story. From hiking the trails at Cummins Falls to kissing under the waterfall at Dunn Falls, our love never wavered.
